From Artificial Intelligence and digitalization of work, to Big Data and Human Interaction in school: Technology is changing education and the way we think about it. Across the range of theories and practice, some predict the doom of education. Others think digital technologies are not a big change factor. If these questions interest you, we think you should come to our 8th annual World Learning Summit. You´ll met international thought leaders, enjoy the benefits of a not too large conference in a friendly place. Our goal is simple: To create a community of interacting life-long learners and educators interested in designs, critiques, cultures and potentials behind new media and learning technologies.
Every year we host 3-5 keynotes, with ample time for panel discussions and one-to-one conversations. Our past keynotes include world-leading academics, as well as entrepreneurs and policy-changers.
A feature of our summits is our insistence on mixing entrepreneurship with academics. Our workshops will include maker-oriented meetings points also in 2017. WLS-entrepreneur in residence 2017 is worth your time.
WLS offers full double-blind review of scientific papers for publication and PhD project papers in progress. Our summit proceedings are accredited as Level 1 in Norway and will offer full means of same-year publishing.
Scholarly papers and innovation designs of a more practical nature fuse in our explorations of education technologies in use. Media theories, pedagogy and a range of disciplinary angles shed light on what works.
Digital disruption is all about changing boundaries and the restructuring of social interactions. A key to future learning will be our ability to connect education, learning and digital transformations of work in new ways.
The coming of globally networked society is a change factor in education on many levels; we travel more, education formats and styles are being globalized. The importance of "being there" is - in earnest - not that clear.
